US Envoy meets NSA Moeed to discuss Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD: US Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Angela Aggeler on Monday called on National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf as both sides agreed over joint efforts to deal with the Afghanistan issue.
According to details, the two sides discussed ongoing developments in Afghanistan and bilateral relations between Pakistan and India. NSA Moeed Yusuf expressed concern over the deteriorating economic situation in the neighboring country.
The two sides agreed to move ahead with coordinated efforts as Angela Aggeler lauded Pakistan’s efforts and help during the evacuation from Afghanistan.
Earlier in the day, US Charge d’ Affairs to Pakistan Angela Aggeler called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, the current security situation in Afghanistan, and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
COAS said that Pakistan desires to maintain the tradition of bilateral engagement and wishes for an enduring relationship with the United States. He reiterated the need for global convergence in Afghanistan for avoiding humanitarian crises and coordinated efforts for the economic uplift of the Afghan people.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation, efforts for regional stability and pledged to play their role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels. TF Report
