Pakistan create history in a world cup fixer, humiliating defeat for India

Green shirts won the match in 17.5 overs with 10 wickets in their hands

DUBAI: In a historic world cup match, Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan hit unbeaten half-centuries and Pakistan completed a resounding 10-wicket win over India. Chasing a reasonable target of 152 runs, the Pakistan openers thrashed Indian bowlers thus completing the target in 17.5 overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets and remained a man of the match.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and ask India to bat. The decision of Captain Babar Azam proved a good one and Pakistan managed to curtail India at 151. Though Virat Kohli played a good knock of 57 it did not give any significant push to team India. Kohli was dismissed on a beautiful ball of Shaheen Afridi. Kohli hit five boundaries and a six during his knock.

Afridi was on fire as he sent back openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul before Hasan Ali removed Suryakumar Yadav to give Pakistan a great start in the match. Rishabh Pant also played a good hand as he hit a 30-ball 39, which included two fours and two sixes, before being dismissed by Shadab Khan.

Pakistan openers started the innings with great confidence. Babar and Rizwan played strokes all over the ground. Both openers back-to-back completed their half centuries leaving Indian bowlers helpless. Pakistan chased the target in 17.5 overs with 10 wickets in hands.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has never won any match against India in any format of World Cup Cricket and on October 24, 2021, Pakistan created history. Pakistan will play the next match on Tuesday evening against New Zealand. TF Report
