PM Imran’s threatening letter is a drama: Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Mian Shehbaz Sharif has termed the international threatening letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan just a drama.

Addressing a press conference at parliament lodges in the federal capital Friday, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz said that the PM’s accountability of the opposition parties especially the Sharif family has also proved a fraud as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has failed to prove the corruption cases.

He said no political party of the joint opposition has received any kind of threat or advice from any side but has written a letter to the authorities to maintain law and order on the day of voting on the no-confidence motion in the National Assembly.

They tried investigation through National Crime Agency (NCA) against me and my son but the UK institute has given a clean chit to us.

Shehbaz said he never heard Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speeches but collects information about his sayings.

The Opposition Leader said PM Imran has ruined Pakistan’s international relations, adding that the PM has also imposed allegations of corruption against Chinese companies that have also been proved false.

The PML-N president further said that dozens of cases have been registered against the opposition but evidence of not even a single case has come to light, adding that the British National Crime Agency investigated against him for two and a half years.

He said the PM and his team especially Pervez Khattak and Asad Umar has imposed allegations of taking Chinese loans on 8% interest but that was not true and has been proved that it was on just 2%.

Answering a query about the chief ministership in Punjab, he said he has been informed that the Speaker’s office in Punjab Assembly has called the nomination papers from the candidates within the next 20 minutes which is rigging.

Interestingly, during the press conference, Shehbaz also received a phone call from an unknown personality and discussed some strategies of the opposition regarding the current political scenario developed in the country.

He said that saying Nawaz Sharif did nothing to stop drone strikes is tantamount to distorting history, adding that his leader [former PM] used to fight the whole case on drone strikes and all these things are part of the record. TF REPORT
