Govt decides to restore weekly holiday of Saturday
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to restore Saturday holidays in government institutions after the approval of the federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif tomorrow.
The Prime Minister had issued an executive order to keep government offices open six days a week, which was later approved by the federal cabinet.
So now, the same holiday will be restored after the cabinet’s approval as per the procedure.
It may be recalled that the Pakistan Business Council had suggested to the government that keeping a five-day working day schedule would save energy in the country while government employees were also protesting for the resumption of weekends.
After taking office on April 12, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif instructed government employees to work six days a week. TF REPORT
