USC buys 50,000 tons of sugar for PM relief package
ISLAMABAD: The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has purchased 50,000 metric tons of sugar to ensure the availability of the commodity to the masses.
According to the sources, the USC bought sugar from J D W Sugar Mills of Jahangir Tareen which quoted Rs 78.94 per kg rate in the open tender under the prime minister package. In this regard, USC issued a tender to purchase 50 thousand tons of sugar.
The sugar will cost the corporation about Rs 83 per kg after adding other expenditures.
However, the sugar will be sold at Rs70 per kg under the prime minister’s relief package at the utility stores established across the country.
The federal government will provide a subsidy of Rs10 to Rs 13 per kg. TF REPORT
